A mystical being known to the people of Proculus as Divine mother, provider, and protector of all. They are taught that Athar's love and strength extends to all beings. With her power she has defended Proculus from the Wraith.

Athar in fact was the cover developed by Chaya Sar, an ascended Ancient who has been exiled by the Ancients to forever protect Proculus -- and only Proculus -- from the Wraith.
