Byrsa term to describe the Stargate. Essentially meaning "circle of woes," it is derived from the root languages Latin and Greek.

The Byrsa feared the cirs'cacona because it brought the presence of the Goa'uld and Jaffa. The device remained in very close proximity to their village and market.
