The first officially licensed Stargate SG-1 role-playing game is coming to an end, Alderac Entertainment Group has announced. New MGM owner Sony Corp. has chosen not to renew the company’s license, bringing an end to the 2-year publication of the game’s print guides.
“It has been a thrill to be a part of such a dynamic and well-received property for the last two years,” brand Stargate manager Rob Vaux said in a message posted at the game’s Web site. “We will miss it a great deal. We thank MGM for their hard-work and professionalism during our partnership together, and wish them the very best for the future of Stargate SG-1.
“As for the game itself, we hope to keep supporting it through the online forums and with occasional adventures, scenarios and character ideas. On behalf of AEG, we’d like to thank you for supporting this game so enthusiastically.”
