Actress Jaime Ray Newman has been cast in an upcoming episode of Stargate Atlantis, GateWorld has learned. Newman will play Lt. Laura Cadman, an Atlantis security officer whose consciousness is stuck in Dr. McKay’s mind in the episode “Duet.”

“She’s one of the characters trapped in my head,” co-star David Hewlett (“Rodney McKay”) told GateWorld. “She was great. We just hung out, and I tried to get some sense of how she spoke.”

Born outside Detroit, Michigan, 27-year-old Newman has appeared in such series as General Hospital (as “Kristina Carter Cassadine”), CSI, and The Drew Carey Show. She also sings with her band, California-based School Boy Crush.
