William B. Davis to guest star on SG-1

Actor William B. Davis, instantly recognizable to science fiction fans as the crafty and elusive Cigarette-Smoking Man on The X-Files, will guest star in upcoming episodes of Stargate SG-1. Executive producer Joseph Mallozzi announced the casting in his blog here at GateWorld.

Originally from Toronto, 67-year-old Davis has also appeared in such shows as Kingdom Hospital, Smallville, Andromeda, The Outer Limits, MacGyver, and Airwolf. His film career includes “The Dead Zone,” “Look Who’s Talking,” and “The X-Files: Fight the Future,” among many others. In 2002 he starred in the SCI FI film “Saint Sinner.”

Davis will make “a couple of appearances” in SG-1‘s ninth season, Mallozzi said. No info is available yet on his character, or the episodes in which he will appear. New episodes are now in production for a July 15 U.S. premiere on SCI FI.
