GateWorld has the first exclusive details on the upcoming
Stargate Atlantis episode
“Common Ground,” currently slated to be the seventh episode in Season Three’s production order. Beware of minor
spoilers in this report.”
Sheppard is essentially in a cell adjacent to a Wraith trapped by a famous Genii commander,” executive producer Brad Wright told GateWorld. “Hopefully it’s
Kolya, if he’s available. And that Wraith has been in that cell for who knows how many years, and
has been separated from the hive. And there’s a bit of a difference between how he behaves and how he interacts with Sheppard [and how a typical Wraith would].”The Wraith character will probably be played by actor
Christopher Heyerdahl, who is playing a number of different Wraith this year, Wright said. Heyerdahl also plays the Athosian Halling on
Atlantis, as well as Pallan in the
SG-1 Season Seven episode
“Revisions.”The episode is being written by
Stargate newcomer
Ken Cuperus. “He’s going to write his first episode, ‘Common Ground,’ that I think the fans are really going to like,”
Atlantis writer Martin Gero told GateWorld. “[It deals] with Sheppard, [and] the return of Kolya, possibly. I think it will be really neat.”
Genii commander Acastus Kolya (Robert Davi) may return in Season Three. From “The Brotherhood.” |

Gero is confident that the producers will be able to get actor Robert Davi to return to Vancouver to reprise his role as Acastus Kolya, the driven Genii military commander who has butted heads with John Sheppard more than once (“The Storm,” “The Eye,” “The Brotherhood”).”He’ll come. He wanted to come for ‘Coup D’etat,’” Gero said. “And it was written written for him, of course. But he was in the middle of filming a movie that he had written, was directing, and starring in.”The Season Two episode was rewritten for Kolya’s lieutenant, Ladon Radim (Ryan Robbins), with a mention in the episode that Commander Kolya went missing several months prior. Ladon and his people suspected that Cowen, the leader of the Genii, had had him murdered.”Common Ground” will premiere on The SCI FI Channel in the U.S. this summer!
