Last week’s episode of the hit animated series The Simpsons brought to fruition a dream for Stargate SG-1 star Richard Dean Anderson and his career — and also gave Stargate fans a send-up of their own. The Jack O’Neill actor guest starred as himself in the episode, “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore.”

When Anderson shows up at Patty and Selma’s MacGyver convention, he tells the two uber-fans that the show means nothing to him. He proceeds to appear on stage with Comic Book Guy at a Stargate convention, only to be kidnapped by Patty and Selma and taken to their MacGyver shrine.

Anderson escapes Patty and Selma (in a scene reminiscient of the actor’s recent MasterCard commercial) by using his contact lense and the sun to burn through his ropes and sliding down a rope using a bra, only to return and tell them how excited it made him. He asks them to tie him up so he can escape again, and soon becomes obsessed with his 1980s MacGyver personae.

When he refuses to leave even to the point of making his biggest fans fed up with him, Patty and Selma subject him to their notorious vacation slides to drive him away.
