Don’t count out Acastus Kolya just yet. The writers of Stargate Atlantis may have plans for the cutthroat Genii commander, played by actor Robert Davi — despite the fact that the character was gunned down in a duel with John Sheppard in the recent episode “Irresponsible.”
Here’s a bit of news passed along to GateWorld by an Atlantis fan:
- “I ran into Robert Davi in Beverly Hills last week and he told me he is returning for another episode of Stargate Atlantis, filming in June. He had only great things to say about the whole production.”
Indeed there is an idea for Davi’s return being bandied about the writer’s room, GateWorld has learned. But “unfortunately, the episode in question had to be put on ice and possibly pushed to Season Five,” executive producer Joseph Mallozzi told us.
The character was introduced in the first season two-parter “The Storm” and “The Eye,” in which he led a Genii strike force to capture the city of Atlantis. He returned in “The Brotherhood” to thwart the team’s efforts to acquire a valuable Zero Point Module, and again to torture Sheppard in this season’s “Common Ground.”
Many fans expressed dismay at the quick death of the favorite villain in “Irresponsible.”
Davi is currently featured in the independent film “The Dukes.”
Will Kolya manage to rise from the grave and return to the screen? Time will tell, with Stargate Atlantis‘s fourth season to premiere this fall and the decision about a possible fifth season to come later this year. Stick with GateWorld for the very latest!
