Nominations for the 34th annual People’s Choice Awards were announced recently, and Stargate Atlantis has made the cut. Atlantis was nominated in the category of “Favorite Sci-Fi Show,” along with Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who — both of which are fellow SCI FI Channel series.
“MGM and the Stargate Atlantis cast and crew are honored to be nominated for this prestigious People’s Choice award,” said Charles E. Cohen, Senior Executive Vice President Finance and Corporate Development, MGM. “With the series confirmed to return for a fifth season on SCI FI, two Stargate movies set for release next year, and a Stargate online role playing game currently in development, the franchise continues to be a timeless force and we encourage the millions fans to continue their support and vote Stargate!”
The People’s Choice Awards are given annually with the nominations and winners being chosen by the public at large. While many awards shows cater to a specific type of media, the People’s Choice Awards cover the entertainment industry as a whole. As such, the awards include categories for actors and actresses, films, television series and music.
Vote now at PCAVote.com! The winners will be announced when the awards ceremony airs on CBS on January 8, 2008. Congratulations to the cast and crew of Stargate Atlantis on this important nomination!
