U.S. President Hayes appeared in a three-episode arc late in Season Seven, when he first assumed the presidency and was informed of the Stargate program’s existence. He has not appeared on screen in the four years since “Lost City,” though he was mentioned by name in the Season Eight episode “Moebius, Part 1” and the Season Ten episode “Bad Guys.”
In Continuum, Daniel, Sam, and Cameron return to an Earth where the timeline has been altered and the Stargate program never existed.
It is not known if Hayes is president in the altered reality. In the different timelines of “Moebius” and “The Road Not Taken,” he was not.
Apart from his work on Stargate SG-1, the 70-year-old actor has played Secretary of Defense James Heller on 24, and Secretary of State Lewis Berryhill on The West Wing. He has also appeared in such shows as What About Brian, Early Edition, and Knots Landing.
Also appearing in the film is Don S. Davis as General George Hammond, who served as the commander of Stargate Command through SG-1‘s seventh season. Davis was last seen in the tenth season episode “The Road Not Taken.”
Stargate: Continuum is now in post-production, with a DVD release likely in the second half of 2008. Visit the Movies guide for more info, and stick with GateWorld for the very latest!
