Months ago, GateWorld reported that Stargate actor Christopher Heyerdahl was cast as “Marcus” in the next installment of the Twilight movie series, New Moon. The film, based on the second installment in author Stephanie Meyer’s vampire book saga, will hit theatres November 20.
Now, as casting has already begun in earnest on the third installment, Eclipse, trade publication Variety is reporting that young actress (and fellow Stargate alum) Jodelle Ferland has been selected for a pivotal role. Although unverified by production studio Summit Entertainment at this time, many fans of the Twilight series are banking on her playing the role of “Bree.”
Stargate fans will remember Ferland as the actress who portrayed a younger version of Adria in the Season Ten episode “Flesh and Blood” of SG-1. A year later, Ferland would jump over to Atlantis for Season Four, playing a young princess under the protection of McKay and Sheppard in “Harmony.”
Outside of Stargate, Ferland’s roles have included spots on series such as Supernatural, Smallville, and Dead Like Me. She has also appeared in film projects that include “Good Luck Chuck” and “Silent Hill.”
This brings the list of Stargate actors recruited for this series of films to four. In addition to Heyerdahl, New Moon also features Stargate alumni Cameron Bright and Michael Welch.
