The character, Simeon, will appear in a story arc running six to seven episodes and leading to a confrontation with Nicholas Rush.
Here’s the casting call:
SIMEON (GUEST LEAD) – 35-45. Simeon is a dangerous Lucian Alliance soldier. He was a seasoned criminal before being recruited by the Alliance. He’s strong and intimidating but more crafty and wiry than big and muscular. Scary in that you’re never sure what he will do. He also holds secrets that are desperately sought after by Earth and those on board Destiny — secrets he would die or worse, kill to protect. He’s an antagonist for several episodes before he finally comes into serious conflict with Robert Carlyle’s character Rush and they are forced to face off. RECURRING. This role will work 6-7 episodes (Please submit all ethnicities)
The Lucian Alliance was introduced in the ninth season of Stargate SG-1, as a group of criminals who seized control of Goa’uld ships, technology and territory following their defeat at the hands of the Replicators. In the first episode of SGU, the team briefly speculates that the Goa’uld motherships that attacked the secret Icarus Base may have been Lucian.

This piece of news has actually made me more excited for season 2 (and somewhat the second half of season 1).
Now I am curious-- how will he come into conflict with Rush? Will some people be able to get to Destiny or will the stones be involved? Another possibility is that he was already on the Icarus base during the initial attack. I guess I will have to watch the second half of season 1 and season 2 to find out.
Based on keywords in the blurb, "all ethnicities", and previous hiring patterns by this group, I've already placed my bet.
This does sound interesting. I'm hoping that he'll be played by Carl Lumbly. I would be great for the part. I loved him in Alias, Battlestar Galactica, and Chuck.
Oh great, it is going to take 6-7 episodes to play out what should really take 1-2 episodes to do. Where are the new aliens at? We could not come up with anything new so we are recycling more stuff from the more popular SG1. Ugg...
Lucian Alliance? Really? They're off in another galaxy and they're going to recycle an enemy who is back in the Milky Way galaxy?
Another thrilling stone based story? Or did he come aboard the Destiny with everyone else during the Icarus attack and the crew is so incompetent they've failed to notice all this time?
Why couldn't they just keep the Lucian Alliance for the story line of an SG1 movie?
LOL why don't they just use the same villain from season 1 — the DP?
*Sigh* That makes NO sense at all. First off, we are shown ON SCREEN that the destiny is AT LEAST 9 GALAXIES away from the Milky Way. Every time the starmap hits another galaxy it makes a *tick* noise. From this, I can estimate that the destiny is somewhere between 20 and 40 (the ticking noise goes to fast to accurately count) GALAXIES-including the empty void of darkspace in between-from the Milky Way. So how the hell does the Lucian Alliance get this far out? Did they blow up a star and make a jump to hyperspace just before getting cooked? Even if they did, there is no way to "plot a course" with that method-you end up where you end up. TPTB I BEG of you, find another way. The Lucian Alliance has no business in this series. If you must have a weekly baddy, then FIND ANOTHER WAY. It's called Stargate UNIVERSE for a reason. You have the whole UNIVERSE to pick from, and I suggest you do.
Here's an idea. Wait for the episode and see how it plays out instead of judging it prematurely. For all we know, it could be handled in a really great way.
The article said nothing about the Lucian Alliance becoming the main enemy, to me it sounds like a recurring character ala Acastus Kolya kind of villain.
There is still the question of how the Lucian Alliance gained the intel about the Icarus base, its possible that there was a spy on the base who came through on the Destiny and has been biding his time fingering out what to do next (Either that or the communication stones are involved).
"Where are the new aliens at?"
