Tonight on SGU: ‘Malice’

Simeon is on the loose. Tonight’s new episode of Stargate Universe picks up where last week left off, as the Lucian Alliance soldier Simeon has gone to visit Dr. Amanda Perry in Ginn’s body. Tune in at 9 p.m. (8 Central) for “Malice” on Syfy Channel.

Shot on location in New Mexico, the episode is written and directed by series co-creator Robert C. Cooper — who also brought us such favorites as “Sateda,” “Doppelganger,” “Unending,” and last year’s SGU episode “Time.”

Watch “Malice” live at 9 and then talk about the episode with us at 10 p.m. over at GateWorld Forum! All this week we’ll be updating the site with GateWorld’s complete coverage of “Malice,” including the transcript and summary, Omnipedia updates, HD screencaps, the podcast, and the detailed plot analysis you can only find here.

  • Tonight will be good. They should just let Rush kill Simeon. What will Homeworld Security do, give them a tongue lashing?

  • Sounds like Simeon kills Rush's gf and that's what sends him on his violent rampage. Since Rush's gf is also in Eli's gf's body (ugh..I hate those stones), I hope this isn't true because then she would be dead too. And I just don't want to have to watch Eli turn into just another severely depressed character. So hopefully that red head doesn't die.

  • sorry for the off topic post, but there was a misspelling that was so gross, I choked on my pepsi... @kellx it is spelled "psyched" like "psyche" or "psycho"

  • This episode looks awsome....man i really feel bad for Eli if he looses Gin i really hope that by the end she comes back, would hate to see Eli depressed for the rest of the season.

  • I'm really confused at how they will pull off this episode. If Simeon killed Perry/Ginn, wouldn't both Eli and Rush be out for blood? I have a sneaking suspicion that Perry dies and Ginn lives. But how?

  • Huge Disclaimer: as David Blue said, don't read too much into trailers. They are aimed to cause interest, but sometimes very mislead.

morrolan: as far as I seen info bits, both Ginn and Pery dies. I have some doubts about Perry, because Earth people could see signs in time and disconnect her. I really doubt that Ginn survives. She will reappear, but when and how... and will it be really she...Remains to be seen. It is sci-fi and these series have rich background and possibilities to return characters.

More about your point - yes, both Eli and Rush would want to kill Simeon, but Rush have actual skills and training to do that (while scientist, he definitely knows how to shoot). He also has this survivalist attitude to everything, he believes in civil order so far it as it keeps such monsters (smart, clever, but still monsters) as Simeon at bay. When order is not maintained, he is ready to take matter in his own hands.

With (possible) death of Perry Rush is steamily angry. While Eli would be heartbroken and superpissed too, he didn't know Ginn so much (or didn't invest so much emotionally), while Perry has been Rush's soul mate for very long time. It is also second time Rush loose someone dear indirectly due of his own mistakes.

Previews and hints from actors indicates that Eli emotions will explode in this episode. How it will manifest, how much, what will be consequences - that's what interests me in this episode.

  • The shock alone would likely kill Perry in the process with her condition. So I doubt she'll survive it (and for those saying that she didn't because Rush goes after Simeon, we don't know the timeframe yet so he could go after Simeon without knowing for certain whether Perry survived or not and we don't know why for certain he goes after Simeon). Also, Rush, while very smart, wouldn't be any match in the hunt against trained military. Considering the details given, if Ginn does die, I'm guessing Eli will go Jack Ruby on Simeon and off him when they bring him back on the ship. It would be just the type of forced drama that SGU tends to lean towards. Just a guess, obviously, but based on the fact that they've left Eli relatively normal until now, it wouldn't surprise me. They can't have any characters that aren't 'dark' or 'edgy' after all.
