Stargate alums headline Syfy’s original movie Iron Invader

If it’s not a swarm of genetically-engineered killer bees or a half-shark, half-octopus threatening small-town America, it’s a killer robot.

Syfy has released teaser videos for Iron Invader, a new original movie set to air this Saturday, February 12.  The movie stars Stargate alums Kavan Smith (Major Lorne), Nicole de Boer (Alison Porter in SGA‘s “Whispers”), and Paul McGillion (Carson Beckett).  You’ll also see familiar faces Chris Gauthier (Eureka, Sanctuary) and Donnelly Rhodes (Battlestar Galactica).

Smith last starred alongside Felicia Day in Syfy’s Red: Werewolf Hunter. A little over 2 million people tuned in on October 30.

Here’s a clip from Iron Invader featuring Kavan … but beware of what might turn out to be major SPOILERS for the movie:

Watch more clips from Iron Invader here. The movie premieres February 12 at 9 p.m. (8 Central) on Syfy.

  • That linked clip, showed the destruction of the killer robot. Pretty much the whole movie was shown right there, lol.

Paul McGillion going from Atlantis, all the way up to a bit part in J.J. Abrams blockbuster ‘Star Trek’ reboot movie, and then back down to a Syfy channel original cr*pfest of a movie? Come on Paul! Get back into big movies! Don’t let Syfy drag you down!

  • Hopefully, Paul McGillion will be starring 'A70', a movie about the true story of an alien abduction in Scotland. Looking forward to that. :)

  • Just watched this over the weekend... It was actually a mildly entertaining SyFy movie. The acting was good, effects, not so good. This was much more watchable than some of the more recent films SyFy has done... like Mega Python Vs Gatoroid.

And it was great to see a pairing of actors from Star Trek and Stargate!

  • Watched it last night. It's a jolly wheeze. :)

Actors from Star Trek, Stargate and Battlestar Galactica in there (as well as tons of other series, such as Fringe, Smallville etc. if you check out iMDB.. lol) :)
