The man behind Stargate Atlantis‘s John Sheppard will make an appearance on the season premiere of Fringe, as the FOX paranormal series heads into its fourth season.
Joe Flanigan will guest star in the episode “Neither Here Nor There,” playing a character named Robert Danzig. Here’s how the network describes the story (beware of spoilers):
The fourth season begins one week after Peter vanished, and as the two universes maintain an uneasy alliance, Lincoln Lee helps the Fringe team on a shape-shifting investigation that hits close to home.
Fringe also stars another Stargate veteran: actor John Noble (“Walter Bishop”) played Meurik in the SG-1 ninth season finale, “Camelot.”
The episode will air on FOX in the United States on Friday, September 23 at 9/8c.

awesome. cant wait. Fringe is one of the best sci fi shows out there right now.
I really cant stand Fringe (Basically the American Torchwood, ugh...)
I wish Sheppard, er, Flanigan the best though!
I love Fringe. It's a fun romp, that is also interesting. A better X File, if you wish. Cool to see Flannigan...
Two Joe F articles - makes me VERY happy! I don't watch Fringe, but will check it out for Joe's ep. O/
This is great news! Fringe, in my opinion is the best kept secret on TV! Everybody I know who is a sci-fi fan loves it and says its one of the best if not THE best sci-fi show on TV (IMO it IS the best right now!) I can't WAIT for season 4 to air and hope its a huge hit and gets more seasons. Would be cool if FOX stuck it to SyFy and had it run past 5 seasons (the producers said they had 7 planned).
John Noble is an amazing actor too, he steals the show and is always fun. Every time I watch The Lord of the Rings I marvel at how good he is at playing Denethor and at how they could have done so much more with that character (there was a lot of story stuff that was in the book that they cut out, like explaining Denethor's madness was a result of the use of a palantir).
Each season of Fringe they up the ante a bit more and do something unique and fresh. Last season was awesome with episodes alternating between our universe and an alternate universe, often without any connection at all! This season we see both universes converge and a character whose been with us since day one (Peter Bishop) no longer exists. He'll be back though and according to Joshua Jackson we'll see more of a future timeline 20 years later that was introduced in the final episode of last season!
At first glance you might think Fringe is just another X-Files but as you delve into it you realize how different they are. First, the main plot of the X-Files revolves around aliens, while with Fringe its a war between two universes. Second, The X-Files had a more fantastical focus while Fringe is definitely about the science! If you're a sci-fi fan and haven't watched this show yet SHAME ON YOU!

I am always happy to see Joe Flanigan on the screen
I also think Fringe is not only the best science fiction show out there at the moment, but one of the best, most original and creative things to hit tv in the past 5 years to say the least!! I love it.And I love how much passion, creative energy, enthusiasm and respect for the fans people involved with the show are investing! It has some of the most amazing actors and writers as well.Writers
that I personally respect and have been following for a long time now. It's also imo a great example of what kind of imagination and approach to sf should be accepted nowdays. It went so far that something up untill recently more than unbeliavable had happened.FOX,FOX-channel that has broken my heart and many more sf fan's hearts more than once before..Firefly,one of the best sf ever,TSCC,probably the best written show in the last decade,to mention a couple..actually gave the show a green light for a 4th season, despite declining ratings.Truly beyond belief..I was positively shocked..AWESOME!!Btw two of those writers I'd mentioned transferred from TSCC directly to Fringe as soon as Terminator had been canned.
And regarding Joe I think it's great news for him,for us and for Fringe!!
I don't watch Fringe but perhaps I'll watch the Season 4 premiere because Joe's in it.
And John Noble is the host/narrator of another show called "Dark Matters: Twisted But True" which I believe runs on our "beloved" SyFy.
It is great to have double Joe Flanagan news. Good for Joe! I like him a lot and have from day one. Hope to see Joe in a future Stargate project, but will enjoy seeing him in other efforts as well. I've got your 6 Farmer Joe!
