Former Stargate SG-1 co-star Claudia Black is getting her vamp on.
The actress has been cast in a major recurring guest role on The CW vampire drama The Originals, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show is a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, and is now in its second season.
She’ll play Dahlia, maternal aunt of the Mikaelson siblings, who is a powerful witch an notorious child-snatcher. Dahlia poses a significant threat to Klaus and Hayley’s daughter when she arrives in town.
Black played Vala Mal Doran in the final seasons of SG-1. Before that her genre credits include Farscape, Pitch Black, and Haven.
Her first appearance on The Originals will be in this season’s sixteenth episode. The show airs Mondays at 8/7c on The CW.
