New Stargate Collectibles In The Works From Chronicle

Chronicle Collectibles has plans for the Stargate license, though just what items it is working on still remain a mystery.

In a December video recapping the company’s major collectible releases in 2019, Chronicle reps made brief mention of Stargate. “We have Stargate,” Chronicle president Clay Brown said. “We’re working on further Stargate product for you guys to be a part of.”

In 2018 Chronicle sold a 1:2-scale fossil replica, based on the prop of the crushed Horus guards that appeared in the director’s cut of the original Stargate motion picture. The item was limited to 100 pieces, and sold out in 2018 at $999.99 each. Orders are finally expected to ship this quarter.

Chronicle makes figures, replica props, and more for a variety of science fiction and fantasy film, TV, and video game properties including Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator, and Jurassic Park. Its relationship with MGM extends to Robocop and the television series Vikings.

On the Stargate front its work to date has been limited to the 1994 feature film — and that looks to continue to be the case this year. “Classic Stargate, in reference to the 1994 film, is still on our development calendar with two to three items planned over the next 12 months,” a rep told GateWorld. “We do not, however, have plans in view for the Stargate SG-1 TV series.”

Before the fossil replica, Chronicle sold Horus and Anubis guard display busts in 1:1 and 1:2 scale.

We previously reported MGM’s statement in a press release that Chronicle would be producing some sort of Stargate SG-1 collectible figures. Chronicle has since denied that they have any such plans.

  • Cool... Meanwhile literally every other sci-fi franchise is thriving with actual NEW live content... Smh.

  • Wish they would sell the franchise to netflix/amazon/any streaming. MGM clearly doesnt trust Stargate. Also, i would love to have collectibles from SG1, SGA and SGU even if it is preorder first.
