Stargate’s M.A.L.P. Blueprints: Download The Free Wallpaper!

Stargate fan artist GateBuilder is back with a new creation — free to download now! Also check out the Atlantis city blueprints he created last year. Here is GateBuilder’s first-hand account of the new piece …

I’ve decided our digital devices could use some Stargate-themed digital wallpaper, so I have started creating some new material. I’ve designed it for your PC or Mac, but I’ve included variants for the iPad as well. The first one is the Stargate M.A.L.P. Stargate Command’s “Mobile Analytic Laboratory Probe” was featured throughout Stargate SG-1 as a key tool in exploring other worlds through the Stargate.

So why create this? I’ve always thought it would be fun to have an online database of all the Stargate equipment, displayed in a similar format to the Atlantis computers. So I have created my own! Of course, there is limited information on some of the great props and technologies that were depicted in the TV shows, so I created a bit of freelance content to fill in the gaps.

I know we are all going through a crazy time right now. I know there is not a lot of good news around. That’s why I’ve asked the GateWorld team if they would host the digital wallpaper of the M.A.L.P – free for you to download below.

GateBuilder’s original, 3D-printed M.A.L.P. model kit is sized to fit the figures and Stargate produced by Diamond Select Toys.

All the profits from my 3D finished props on Etsy will be going to the Australian bush fire fund for the next few months. I’m trying to help the devastated Koala populations from the recent bush fires. Anyone who buys a finished 3D printed prop will get an e-mail from me with a copy of the donation receipt.

By the way, if you like the M.A.L.P. you can also download the 3D printer model (for free) and print and build your own model! It’s accurately scaled to the DST action figures. Check out the GateWorld article for details.

I hope this inspires other fans to produce their own fan-made content. Hopefully, MGM will produce some new canon Stargate.

A big thanks to GateWorld for hosting the digital wallpaper, meaning you get to download it for free! So, please don’t forget to send some thanks to Darren.

More digital art is coming, including the naquadah generator and the Stargate Atlantis life-signs detector. I’ll put these on Etsy as I complete them.
