Stargate’s television co-creator Brad Wright is letting fans in on an intimate conversation with his long-time friend and creative partner Richard Dean Anderson — star of Stargate SG-1. RDA will make a very special appearance on the January 2022 edition of Wright’s podcast, “Conversations in Sci-Fi,” hosted by The Companion.
Anderson played Colonel (then General) Jack O’Neill on Stargate SG-1 — eight years as a main cast member, followed by numerous guest appearances through the show’s final two seasons and two spin-offs.
The video podcast will make its premiere in a special livestream event on January 22, 2022. It’s exclusively for The Companion members, and the video conversation will be available on demand for subscribers on January 23 (which is Anderson’s 72nd birthday).
The Companion also confirms to GateWorld that a free 30-minute cut will be available that same day.

Brad and Rick’s conversation is sure to be a revealing look at the history of Stargate’s production — or at least what Wright joking calls a trip down “lack of memory lane.” The two talk about Anderson’s SG-1 co-stars, the importance of having a dog-friendly set, working with the U.S. Air Force (who served as consultants throughout the show’s run, and for the follow-up movie Stargate: Continuum), and more.
