Jason Momoa’s See Will End With Season 3

The third season of Jason Momoa’s high-concept fantasy drama See is coming later this summer — and today fans learned that Season 3 will be the last for the show.

Deadline reports that the show will end this year. Seasons 2 and 3 filmed back-to-back, wrapping last fall.

The former Stargate Atlantis co-star headlines See in the role of Baba Voss, a tribal leader in a future world where all of humankind has lost the sense of sight. But everything changes when two children are born with the ability to see.

Momoa played Ronon Dex for four seasons on Stargate Atlantis. His former co-star David Hewlett (“Rodney McKay”) joined the cast of See in Season 2, and continues on into the new season as Tormada. Joe Flanigan (“John Sheppard”) also appeared on the show.

See was a launch series for the Apple TV+ streaming service in November 2019. Alfre Woodard also stars, and science fiction fans might also recognize actress Nesta Cooper. She played Carly Shannon on Brad Wright’s time travel series Travelers. Tom Mison also appears on the show, recognizable as Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow.

While Apple TV+ does not report many concrete numbers (including its total subscriber count), Apple did say that See premiered its second season as the service’s most-watched returning drama series.

The 8-episode final season of See premieres August 26 on Apple TV+. New episodes will drop weekly.

Momoa is sticking around Apple TV+, however. His next project for the streamer is near to his own heart: Chief of War will chronicle the history of the unification and colonization of Hawaii. Momoa co-created the limited series with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.
