‘Dial the Gate’ Announces Stargate Fan Watch-Along Channel

Our friends over at “Dial the Gate” are expanding into a second channel on YouTube, with a Stargate rewatch show that is bound to be a whole lot of fun for long-time fans.

“Wormhole X-Tremists” is a live Stargate rewatch channel, where fans will be able to participate in rewatching episodes of the Stargate franchise along with the panel of hosts.

Hosting the new show are “Dial the Gate” host David Read and fellow Stargate fans Nicole Rodrigues-Galdo and Yvonne Cahill. Nicole and Yvonne were originally discovered by MGM’s official “Stargate Superfan” search in 2019, and have been frequent “Dial the Gate” contributors since the retrospective interview channel launched in October 2020.

“Wormhole X-Tremists” will launch Wednesday, July 27 (starting 12 pm Pacific) with the SG-1 series premiere, “Children of the Gods.” Why the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday? It’s the twenty-fifth anniversary of the show’s premiere! (Regular rewatches will then take place on Sundays starting in the fall.)

This weekend Stargate fans are invited to a kick-off event — Sunday, July 3 (12 pm Pacific, 3 pm Eastern, 7 pm GMT). There you can get to know the hosts and ask them questions, and find out more about the format of the show … and which episode is up first.

“I have been so overwhelmed with Dial the Gate’s growth over the past two seasons, and it just seems natural that it’s time to expand into a second channel,” Read said. “My co-hosts are people for whom I have a great deal of respect and admiration, and I am so excited to start this journey with them and get to know them better as we rewatch some of the best television ever made.”

“My dreams of watching Stargate with other fans has come true,” said Rodrigues-Galdo. “Being able to sit down with people I admire and relive something so mutually important in our lives is such a gift. I feel so fortunate and I am so excited to laugh, cry and thoroughly embarrass my way through this again with the community. Comtrya!”

Cahill added, “In these uncertain times, there’s nothing more comforting than rewatching a familiar favourite with good people. We’re going to fearlessly go where we’ve all been before and reacquaint ourselves with the series we love, the fandom, and each other! It’s going to be like a strong cup of commissary coffee, or a big bowl of blue jello for the soul! I’m very much looking forward to it.”

Meanwhile original content for “Wormhole X-Tremists” will be published weekly throughout the summer, leading up to the fall premiere. Head over to “Dial the Gate” on YouTube for more, and be among the show’s first subscribers on the new “Wormhole X-Tremists” channel!
