Two members of the SG-1 team are headed to the London area next spring. Basingstoke Comic Con organizers have announced that Richard Dean Anderson and Amanda Tapping will headline the event, set for May 10-12, 2024 at the Hampshire Court Hotel.

Also announced for the convention are actors Evanna Lynch (Harry Potter), Briana Buckmaster (Supernatural), and Kim Rhodes (Supernatural). Additional guests will be announced in the months ahead. Organizers say that guests are being selected because they have appeared in one of four shows: Supernatural, Sandman, Umbrella Academy, and Stargate.

Anderson played Colonel Jack O’Neill on Stargate SG-1, while Tapping played Samantha Carter — also adding a season of Stargate Atlantis to her resume. (But you don’t need us to tell you that.) Both will appear on Saturday and Sunday.

Basingstoke is about 1 hour west of London, and only 35 minutes from Heathrow Airport. This is the second Basingstoke Comic Con following the first this past May, and the organizers state that the event independently financed.

Stargate guests at the 2023 event included Michael Shanks, Joe Flanigan, Gary Jones, Rachel Luttrell, Paul McGillion, Alaina Huffman, Rainbow Sun Francks.

“Basingstoke Comic Con is a Comic Con and Convention combined, offering the best of both,” the group’s Web site says. “Having attended Comic Cons and Conventions around the world, we have taken the elements we love and improved the elements we don’t. Queuing being a major one! Our mission is to create a unique and enjoyable event accessible to all.”

The event will include stage panels as well as autographs, photo ops, and meet-and-greet sessions with the guests.
