Stargate Universe actress Kathleen Munroe has joined the cast of Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, the latest expansion of Dick Wolf’s venerable crime drama franchise.
She will play Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman on the show, according to Deadline. The 10-part series is currently filming for a spring debut on Citytv in Canada.
On SGU Munroe played the recurring role of Dr. Amanda Perry, an old friend of Nicholas Rush (Robert Carlyle) and a quadriplegic who was able to visit the Ancient ship Destiny using the long-range communication stones. Munroe appeared in four episodes of the series, beginning with Season One’s “Sabotage.”
She previously played a detective on the Apple TV+ original City on Fire, which ran for one season. Criminal Intent is also not her first tour of duty in the Law & Order franchise; she appeared in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and made two appearances in the latest season of NBC’s Law & Order: Organized Crime.
Also on the newly announced Toronto cast are Aden Young (Rectify) as Detective Sergeant Henry Graff, Karen Robinson (Schitt’s Creek) as Inspector Vivienne Holness, K.C. Collins (The Cleaning Lady) as Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester, Nicola Correia-Damude (Shadowhunters) as Forensic Pathologist Dr. Lucy Da Silva, and Araya Mengesha (Nobody) as tech expert Mark Yohannes.
