Base constructed on the surface of Icarus planet, designed to cannibalize the world's immense radioactive core for the purpose of the Icarus Project. The base was headed by Colonel Everett Young and Dr. Nicholas Rush, both of whom picked the personnel for the facility. A powerful energy shield surrounds the base to protect it from the core.
Following the first failed attempt to connect to the nine-chevron address, Icarus base fell under attack from the Lucian Alliance. Dr. Rush and Eli Wallace worked out a quick solution which allowed the ninth chevron to connect, and over 80 personnel and visitors escaped through the Stargate to the Ancient ship Destiny before the attack destabilized the planet's core.
