Doctor, scientist with full security clearance who spent five years developing the compound, HU-2340. Upon the probability of death of the population on planet K'Tau, MacLaran brought the container to the S.G.C. to be transported through the Stargate on a M.A.L.P. to terminate directly in the K'Tau sun. MacLaran was invited to K'Tau to, one day, see the planet his Maclarium had saved.
It is not clear whether the HU-2340, or the Asgard's intervention (or both) ultimately saved the planet.
