In taking the top prize the show bested competitors Dead Like Me, The Dead Zone, The 4400, Nip/Tuck, and sister series Stargate Atlantis.
SG-1 won the Best Series award in 2004, its first time since 2000 (story). Tapping was also nominated for the same award last year, but lost out to Angel‘s Amy Acker. This year’s nominations also recognized Torri Higginson (Stargate Atlantis) in the Best Actress category.
Lost was awarded this year’s Best Network Television Series award, while the Best Actor and Best Actress awards went to Stargate SG-1 Season Nine newcomers Ben Browder and Claudia Black for their work on Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars. Richard Dean Anderson was also nominated in the Best Actor category.
Michael Shanks was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, with the award going to Terry O’Quinn (Lost).
The Farscape mini-series also won the award for Best Television Presentation.
