SCI FI Channel viewers will have no fewer than three Stargate marathons this summer. Add a day’s worth of Battlestar Galactica, and it’s enough to make your eyes bleed. Yee-haw!
Canada’s The Movie Network has published its schedule for the first seven episodes of Atlantis Season Two, beginning July 18 at 8 p.m. and airing every Monday thereafter. The network lists the episodes in this order:
Meanwhile, Season One of Stargate Atlantis will premiere on U.K. terrestrial Channel Five on Friday, July 15 at 8 p.m. with “Rising, Part 1.”
States-side, The SCI FI Channel has scheduled yet another Stargate marathon later this summer: The first six episodes of Atlantis Season Two look to be airing in a marathon on Tuesday, August 23 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. (SCI FI is also airing an SG-1 Season Eight marathon all day on July 7, followed by Atlantis Season One all day July 8 … both 8 a.m. to 3 a.m.)
SG-1‘s Amanda Tapping (“Samantha Carter”) has cancelled her appearance at this July’s Gatecon convention in Vancouver, due to work commitments.
IGN reviews the new Stargate Atlantis: “Rising” DVD release. The reviewer worries that the premise may not be able to sustain an entire series, calling the pilot movie “generic.” He gives the show a 6 out of 10, but gives the audio and video presentation high marks.
Stargate – The Ultimate Fan Guide has published a new interview with Stargate Atlantis guest star Jaime Ray Newman, who plays Lt. Laura Cadman in the upcoming episode “Duet.” The interview also includes a couple of nifty new photos from the episode (one behind the scenes).
This does not mean that this is the same order we’ll see the episodes air in the U.S. and elsewhere. As GateWorld lists episodes by their first U.S. cable run, we’ll update the Atlantis episode guide when SCI FI announces their schedule in the weeks ahead.
“I really loved playing Cadman,” Newman said in the interview. “She’s a free spirit, and says it like it is. She is the polar opposite of McKay, which obviously added to the comedy of the episode.”
