SCI FI Channel will lead off its summer of new original programming with a brand new (to the U.S.) Stargate special, the network has announced.

The Science of Stargate SG-1 will lead off the season premiere night on Friday, July 14 at 8 p.m. Eastern/Pacific. Hosted by Amanda Tapping (“Samantha Carter”), the 1-hour special originally aired in the United Kingdom last year.

The special will rerun at 1 a.m. that night, and July 21 at 6 p.m. Eastern/Pacific.

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis follow The Science of Stargate on July 14 with their season premieres, “Flesh and Blood” and “No Man’s Land.”
