The 5-disc slimline set will include all 20 episodes from the 2005-2006 season, from “Avalon” to “Camelot,” presented in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. Subtitles will be available in English, French, and Spanish, along with a French alternate audio track.
The boxed set will reportedly carry a suggested retail price of $49.95 — if true, the lowest ever for a new SG-1 release.
Expect the bountiful bonus features you’ve come to expect from Stargate — in fact, possibly the most bonus features ever released on a single season set in North America (produced by Ivon Bartok) — including audio commentaries from crew and cast on every single episode. Featurettes include:

In Season Nine of the hit series, Ben Browder joins the regular cast as Air Force Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell, an X-302 fighter pilot who helped in the defense of Earth from Anubis (“Lost City, Part 2”). Also joining the cast is veteran actor Beau Bridges, who takes command of the S.G.C. base as Major General Hank Landry.
Claudia Black — Browder’s former Farscape co-star — appears in eight episodes of the series, which led to her becoming a regular in Season Ten (now airing on SCI FI).
The season launches SG-1 into a brand new story arc, introducing the uber-powerful Ori and their followers, bent on converting our galaxy to the worship of the ascended beings.
Season Two of Stargate Atlantis is also expected on DVD this fall, though no release date has made its way to the public yet.
As this DVD release info has yet to be officially announced by MGM or Fox, it is of course subject to change. Visit TVShowsOnDVD.com for the original report, and keep your browser locked on GateWorld for the latest!
