  • I see naked skin?? did they switch to Showtime??

Last time i saw something like that in the SG1 Pilot..

  • Is this another setup for more of Chloe's and Scott's promo shots? We'll know after it's put on every fansite out there. I know Chloe's already signed on with Maxim.

Sg1/Atlantis never had to resort to this sort of cheese.

  • Chloe in the water... Does that mean that something will jump out and try to bite her so that she can run around naked and play the damsel in distress again? ;) I mean, there's the strong, studly Lt. Scott to the rescue, after all... For some reason I find it incredibly funny, like a cheesy romance novel XD

I have no idea what the ep will be about but that's the first thing that popped up in my mind when I saw the picture.

  • hmmm sounds a little similar to the STO episode "Shore Leave". Will there be a white rabbit, knights, and Finnegan?

  • Looks like a good episode, but I'm more interested in the religious aspects they've been talking about. Granted those are hard to put in a little promo.

@arnoldrimmer: That isn't actually nudity just so you know?

@rushed: That is separate from the show itself and those other shows had their own kind of 'cheese'.

@sgfan: If you go rooting around deep enough you'll find *some* similarity to something else no matter how vague.

  • It'll be interesting to find out why the countdown clock didn't start...or if the characters even figure out why. Wouldn't be surprised if Rush didn't figure out some way to stop it in order to get some of the people to want to get off the ship and stay behind. Sounds like it's going to be an interesting episode.

  • Episode Pros:
They actually got a break for once
    Less Drama

    Episode Cons:
Whiney Chloe (honestly, kill her off, please.)
    Pregnant doc
    alien worshiper

The episode was light on drama, which is good. Some nice shots of actual landscape, again, good. People starting to look like the vague outline of a crew, distant future but I suspect its started.

On to the cons. Again, whiny (and starting to get bitchey) Chloe.

Pregnant Doc, really? That had to be thrown in there this early? Why couldn’t we have explored her and Young’s relationship some more rather then getting a baby involved at season 1?

Alien Worshiper, seriously what the hell?! “Oh I’ve never met them but based on their ability to make a star and planet I will worship them as though they were benevolent gods”. Has this guy NOT read SGC mission reports for the past ten plus years?

In the end, for SGU, this was probably one of the better episodes. I would have to say its probably one of the few (if not only one so far) that ended on a somewhat happy note. I wish though that the last few seconds we saw who the aliens were or at least saw their ship enter the system just as destiny arrived, giving us something other than a obelisk with a flashlight option.

  • Having just watched the episode, and having hated the first half of season one more then I can possibly say, I have to admit I liked it. It continues the trend of season 1.5 episodes being of a substantially higher quality in terms of plot and character development.

    Well done!
