A new short film co-starring Paul McGillion (Stargate Atlantis’s Dr. Carson Beckett) has been selected for the Short Cuts Canada programme at the 35th Toronto International Film Festival. A Fine Young Man is among 40 films selected. McGillion also co-produced the project.
Written and directed by Kevan Funk, and shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, the film is set in 1962 amidst the fears of communism and nuclear holocaust. Here’s how the producers describe the story:

McGillion’s character is named Barton Grant. Also starring are Wesley Salter, Ali Liebert, and Cole Humphrey.
