Next week geeks the world over converge on southern California for the largest annual gathering in comics, television, movies, and popular culture: San Diego Comic-Con!
And though Stargate is currently off the air, there are a few Stargate actor appearances and other highlights worth pointing out. If you’re going to Comic-Con (July 17-21), here’s a quick guide to all things Stargate-related:
Thursday, July 18 (3:00 p.m.) – Room 6A
James Spader — the original Daniel Jackson — is on hand with other cast members and executive producers to talk about the new NBC drama The Blacklist. Spader plays a high-profile criminal who turns himself in to the authorities, with a head full of vital information on imminent threats.
Friday, July 19 (1:45 p.m.) – Ballroom 20
The new adventure series premieres this fall on ABC, set in the world of The Avengers and written / directed / produced by Joss Whedon. SGU‘s Ming-Na Wen (“Camille Wray”) co-stars as bad-ass Agent Melinda May. There’s no confirmation if she will be on hand for the show’s very first Comic-Con panel, but ABC is advertising Whedon along with Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb, plus “surprise guests.”
Friday, July 19 (3:45 p.m.) – Room 5AB
Jason Momoa (“Ronon Dex”) and Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class) join director David Hayter to preview the upcoming werewolf thriller Wolves. Momoa plays the villain, a werewolf patriarch in the small town of Lupine Ridge (story).
Friday, July 19 (4:30 p.m.) – Room 6BCF
Panelists include Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Colin Cunningham, Sarah Carter, Doug Jones, and executive producers Remi Aubuchon and Greg Beeman. Wil Wheaton will moderate. Cunningham (Stargate‘s Major Davis) co-stars on TNT’s alien invasion drama as John Pope. Aubuchon served as a writer-producer for the second season of Stargate Universe.
Friday, July 19 (5:30 p.m.) – Room 2
This “Comic-Con How To” panel gives aspiring actors and other artists a chance to hear from those who have made it in the business. One of the panel members is actor Alexis Cruz, who played Skaara in the original Stargate feature film and reprised the role several times on SG-1. He is also a director and producer.

The fantasy favorite is heading into its third season this fall, and is back at Comic-Con with a full panel event! On hand will be Stargate Universe‘s Robert Carlyle (“Nicholas Rush”), who co-stars on the series as Mr. Gold / Rumplestiltskin, along with Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Josh Dallas, Emilie de Ravin, Colin O’Donoghue, Michael Raymond James, and co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
