Actor Mark Dacascos is headed to ABC’s comic book adventure drama Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Deadline reports that the actor will play Giyera, the head of security for S.H.I.E.L.D., in what is described as a heavily recurring role.
Dacascos played the Satedan warrior turned Wraith sympathizer Tyre on Stargate Atlantis, appearing opposite Jason Momoa first in Season Four’s “Reunion” and returning in Season Five’s “Broken Ties.”
Honolulu-born Dacascos went on from his Stargate appearances to play the villain Wo-Fat on CBS’s Hawaii Five-O, and appeared as the Chairman on Iron Chef America.
S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s cast list includes former Stargate Universe co-star Ming-Na Wen (“Camille Wray”).
