Christopher Judge To Host Stargate Panel At LACC

Fans were abuzz when MGM held a 20th Anniversary Stargate Panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past July — announcing the digital subscription platform Stargate Command and the new digital series Stargate Origins. Now, fans will be treated to another convention appearance, with the franchise making a splash in downtown Los Angeles this weekend.

Christopher Judge (“Teal’c”) will host a “Stargate: Past, Present, and Future” panel on Saturday, October 28 at the L.A. Convention Center. Described as a journey that will “span more than 23 years of planet-hopping adventures,” the panel promises to celebrate the extensive legacy of the franchise — as well as tease what the future holds.

Fans in attendance will also get a new glimpse at Stargate Origins, which is currently in production in the greater L.A. area.

Panel guests include Stargate Origins director Mercedes Bryce Morgan and Origins actor Ellie Gall, who was recently cast as young Catherine Langford. Damian Beurer (Legion M) will co-host the panel along with Judge.

No other guests have been announced, but fans should not rule out surprise appearances just yet.

Origins director Mercedes Bryce Morgan will join Judge on stage in L.A.

The Stargate franchise’s presence will extend beyond the panel as well, with a Stargate Command booth on the convention floor all weekend (Booth 502).  It will be a unique chance for fans to meet some of the Stargate Command team and hang out with other Gaters as they celebrate the Stargate franchise (and maybe even score some free giveaways).

Judge has continued to be an ambassador for Stargate, appearing at several recent conventions and promoting the rebirth of the franchise. He is hosting a yet-to-be-announced interview series for Stargate Command which will likely stream as part of the premium content offered on the platform. Guests such as Tony Amendola (“Bra’tac”), Carmen Argenziano (“Jacob Carter”), Joseph Mallozzi (writer executive producer), and Ben Browder (“Cameron Mitchell”) have already been interviewed.

Stargate Origins is expected to premiere at the end of this year or early in 2018. Fans have been treated to production journals from the director, but so far no new footage has been unveiled.

Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con runs from October 27-29 at the L.A. Convention Center. Tickets are still available for those interested in making last-minute plans.
