The new fantasy series from Stargate producers Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner will be back for more adventuring. The CW announced today that it has given a second season to The Outpost.
Jessica Green stars in the series as Talon, the lone survivor of the “Blackbloods.” In pursuit of the people who killed her family and decimated her village, Talon discovers that she possesses a mysterious supernatural power — which she must learn to control.
Jake Stormoen, Imogen Waterhouse, and Anand Desai-Barochia also star.
Devlin and Glassner executive produce the series along with Electric Entertainment’s Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson, and Arrowstorm Entertainment’s Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin.
The summer series wrapped up its first season just last week, averaging a modest but steady 0.1 Live + Same Day rating in the key demo of adults 18 to 49.While the premiere received mix reviews from critics, the series has quickly built a loyal fan base. An estimated 770,000 viewers tuned in to watch the series premiere live, and more than 75 percent of that audience was still watching the season finale on October 2.
Season Two of The Outpost will air next summer on The CW in the United States. Syfy International distributes the show in other countries, so check your local listings.
In the summer of 2019 The CW will also bring back Burden of Truth (starring Smallville‘s Kristin Kreuk), plus new seasons of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Masters of Illusion, and Whose Line Is It Anyway? — all renewed today.
The network has also picked up Bulletproof, a U.K. cop drama that stars Doctor Who‘s Noel Clarke.
Great to hear
It’s incredible! I enjoyed season 1 so much.
I’m glad to hear this. I was a little worried we wouldn’t find out what happens after the way the season ended.
I loved Janzo and really enjoyed the show. I hope they give Janzo and Talon a fair chance, couplewise.
Great news…real
good.
