Stargate actors Alaina Huffman and Christopher Judge are headlining a brand new audio drama, created in the era of COVID isolation.
Created by Mike Disa with Christopher Judge as a passion project, “Sentinels” is a sprawling adventure about the end of humanity. Four hundred years in the future, Earth’s solar system is being overwhelmed by an alien armada. In a last-ditch effort to save Earth and its outposts, feuding social and political factions must unite against a common threat.
Huffman plays Admiral Katherine Shepard, the highest ranking officer in EarthCorp’s Security forces, who must rebuild a decimated fleet to try and save Earth. Judge plays the role of Major Joseph Abrams, veteran first officer of the Achilles.
Disa confirms to GateWorld that both are leading roles in the series.
But first the opening episodes chronicle a brutal battle near Saturn, where the overwhelming threat of the “Xenos” becomes apparent.
With a 2-hour pilot script from Disa, he and Judge intended to shop the project to producers in California as an action-heavy, live-action or anime series. Then the coronavirus shutdown hit. When all productions (and pitch meetings) ground to a sudden halt, the two pivoted the project to make an audio drama — with cast members recording their parts remotely, from home.
The “Point of No Return” storyline adapts that pilot script, and is currently ongoing as a serialized audio drama. The show is fully produced with sound effects, and a score from Grammy-winning composer Christopher Tin (Civilization). A prologue and the first four episodes (around 11 minutes each) are available right now at SentinelsPodcast.com, and on Podbean.
Also starring are Nicole Parker (MADtv), Peter Woodward (Babylon 5: Crusade), Danielle Bisutti (God of War), Joy Osmanski (Stargirl), and Adam J. Harrington (whose Stargate SG-1 credits include the Tok’ra spy Khonsu in the sixth-season episode “The Other Guys”). Judge’s son, Chris Judge, Jr., also makes an appearance.
Many of the cast are acquainted from their voiceover work together on the Boomerang animated series Wacky Races — a revival of the 1968 Hanna-Barbera classic, where Disa was a writer and producer. Judge himself voiced the character of “Brick Crashman” on the kids’ show.
Judge spent a decade in the role of Teal’c on Stargate SG-1. Huffman co-starred on the spin-off Stargate Universe, as Lt. Tamara Johansen.

Thanks for write up! I am a huge Stargate fan and this podcast is a love letter to that series and all the classic sci-fi that has meant so much to me. Ask me someday how Chris and I became friends. It’s a good story! In the meantime episode 5 drops Tuesday, July 13th as the new crew begins a desperate mission at the site of the Sentinels’ greatest failure. I hope everyone enjoys this free adventure and the chance to listen to old friends doing serious sci fi!! Many thanks to Gateworld!
What a shame ! Such promising and interesting sinopsis wont get a tv-sho now.
Well….. Ya never know….
Just finding out about this now. It sounds amazing! Will be spending the rest of my Sunday listening. Wholeheartedly support this and hoping for it’s continued growth and success.
