Stargate’s own Amanda Tapping is sitting down for a conversation with fans online, and you can be a part of it.
Next month the actor, director, and producer will participate in “Amanda Tapping In Conversation: Uplifting Women in Film & TV,” presented by The Companion. The livestream event takes place on Saturday, May 8 (1 pm PT, 4 pm ET, 8 pm GMT). Writer (and long-time Stargate fan) Sam Maggs will host.
“Things have changed so much for women since I started out as an actor,” Tapping said, “and it’s so important to share these experiences with the next generation and learn from them, so we can spend as much time looking forward as we do looking back. We can’t solve every problem, but we can work together to elevate women in the industry and have each others’ backs.”
Fans will be able to watch the conversation live and participate in the text chat, and submit questions for Amanda. (“AMA” stands for “Ask Me Anything.”)
There is one catch, however: to keep a more intimate atmosphere this one is a private livestream for members of The Companion. Membership to the online sci-fi magazine is currently discounted to $8.99 for the first three months (57% off). The site includes ongoing Stargate content, including written and audio pieces from Stargate executive producers Brad Wright and Joseph Mallozzi, as well as feature articles from other contributors.
Tapping is currently working as an executive producer on the Freeform supernatural drama Motherland: Fort Salem.
