The site will feature a 5-minute sneak peek on Monday, April 30, with exclusive scenes from the first two webisodes.
The first broadcast-quality series to be produced specifically for the Internet, Sanctuary is executive produced by Tapping and former SG-1 writer-producer Damian Kindler, along with Stargate‘s N. John Smith and director Martin Wood. The show is filmed almost entirely against green screen, with computer-generated sets giving a unique look to the fantasy series.
Each installment will run about 15 minutes, with the complete first episode (written by Kindler) broken up into eight segments. New webisodes will be released every few weeks after May 14. Additional episodes should go before cameras later this year.
The first few episodes will be offered online for free, to give viewers the opportunity to sample the series.
Each new episode will be followed by a new section of the official Web site for fans to explore.
Sanctuary co-stars Robin Dunne as Will Zimmerman, Emilie Ullerup as Ashley Magnus, and Christopher Heyerdahl (“Halling” on Stargate Atlantis) as Montague John Druitt.
Also appearing in the pilot episode are David Hewlett (“Rodney McKay”) as Larry Tolson, Paul McGillion (“Carson Beckett”) as Wexford, Kavan Smith (“Lorne”), Dan Payne (Kull warrior, Wraith), Ryan Robbins (“Ladon Radim”), Peter DeLuise (Stargate director), and other familiar faces.
