The cameras have stopped rolling on Stargate SG-1, and Chris Judge gives a heartfelt hug to friend and co-star Ben Browder.
GROWING UP WITH STARGATE:
Stargate SG-1 is one of the few shows that people really have grown up watching. People say that about things like Star Trek, but usually the show only lasted a few years. I’m sure they had an influence — a lot of scientists cite Trek as their inspiration — but they didn’t actually grow up with the shows.
When SG-1 started, I was seven — I had been at school for a year or two. Now, as it ends, I’m 17, studying A-Levels, and soon I will be applying for universities. I really have grown up watching Stargate, and it’s had such an influence on my life. A lot of my sense of humour is similar to that of Stargate‘s characters (them, and Joss Whedon’s shows). Stargate got me interested in mythology and ancient history, and, hey, I want to be an archaeologist.
