Christopher Judge (“Teal’c”) has sold his script for Rage of Angels to MGM where it will apparently be developed as a two-hour direct-to-DVD movie, which will also serve as a backdoor pilot for a possible series. Judge will play the angel Gabriel, while Michael Shanks will portray Lucifer. The project, describes by Judge as dark, sexy and violent, is tentatively scheduled for a fall start.
Ben Browder (“Cameron Mitchell”), along with prolific Farscape director Andrew Prowse, is in development with SCI FI Channel on a six-hour miniseries entitled, Going Homer, which the pair will write and executive produce. The story concerns a 12-year-old boy and his father as they travel cross country, encountering Greek gods. While not yet formally attached as star, Browder would likely play the father.
In addition, Browder and Prowse have sold MGM a movie project called “Black Mountain” which concerns an investigator trying to solve a series of horrific murders in a small town. A fall shooting start, with Browder starring, is possible. There is also a possibility that Browder may reprise his role as astronaut John Crichton in the series 10 webisodes of Farscape currently being developed by series creator Rockne O’Bannon and Brian Henson for SCIFI.com. Oh, and Browder admits to keeping Mitchell’s dog tags!
Claudia Black (“Vala Mal Doran”) was scheduled to have a recurring role in the NBC show Life, and even appeared in some early TV ads for the show. She dropped out due to scheduling conflicts, but if the show is successful, the producer would like to find another role for her. There is no word yet on whether Black will reprise her Aeryn Sun character for the Farscape webisodes. Her second child is due in November, according to reports.
Beau Bridges (“Hank Landry”) has been nominated for an Emmy Award as Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of Carl in My Name is Earl. The Emmys will be handed out in primetime on September 16. His new series for FOX, Two Families, was not picked up for the fall network schedule, but may be a mid-season replacement.
Lexa Doig (“Carolyn Lam”) has completed work on a Lifetime Movie Channel film entitled “Killer Eyes.” No air date has been set yet.
Amanda Tapping (“Samantha Carter”) is busy shooting the fourth season of Stargate Atlantis, which will premiere September 28 on SCI FI Channel. Her new Internet series, Sanctuary, hopes to film additional episodes once Atlantis‘s filming wraps for the season in October.
After putting in an appearance in the upcoming SG-1 DVD movie Stargate: Continuum, Richard Dean Anderson (“Jack O’Neill”) has been doing some travelling, and is planning foot surgery for the fall.
