Stargate Universe production will be returning to New Mexico to film pieces of the upcoming Season Two episode “Malice,” which is slated to be the eighth episode of SGU‘s sophomore season. Filming will begin this Monday, May 17, and wrap up on May 21 — this time in the town of Farmington.
The crew of of SGU first filmed in New Mexico for the third part of the series opener, “Air,” in historic White Sands desert. New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson said in a press release that he is “pleased” that production of Stargate Universe is returning to the state. New Mexico tends to bring in a lot of revenue from productions that film there on a repeat basis.
Cast members participating in the New Mexico shoot will include Robert Carlyle (“Nicholas Rush”), Brian J. Smith (“Matthew Scott”), and Jamil Walker Smith (“Ronald Greer”), according to KRQE News. The scenes to be filmed will also include several extras, for which local casting is underway in New Mexico.
The series films in the Vancouver, British Columbia area, and rarely travels south of the Canadian border.
“Malice” is written and directed by executive producer Robert C. Cooper.

I think it looks a bit like an alien landscape. Even though it's on earth, but I suspect it could be troublesome for SGU to go film on another planet. ;)

Wow Omg I was wonderin what the whole SGU signs were about all over Fmngtn to Bisti. About 30 Miles of signs. I did not know filming was taking place just across the rd. from where i live its great to c the scenery being put to use and indeed it does look like a place from space.
