UPDATE (12/31/23): Another streaming crisis appears to have been averted, as all three Stargate shows are no longer listed for removal from Prime Video on the last day of the year.

Here we go again: The complete Stargate TV franchise has been marked for removal from Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service in the United States. Unless and until the company changes its mind, as of New Year’s Day Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe will no longer be available on the platform.
Viewers currently can see a countdown on each show’s page, indicating the days remaining until removal. All three series and 17 seasons are currently slated to be dropped from Prime Video at the end of December, 2023.
Note that this change impacts the U.S. market only. In other countries Stargate is licensed to other streaming services or partners, or may be locked behind an additional “MGM+” channel subscription. Check your local listings for availability.
Fans and casual viewers of the franchise hit the same snag in their binge viewing at this time last year. All three Stargate series were taken off Prime Video in the U.S. at the end of 2022, only to be restored four days later in early January. This wasn’t all good news, though – Amazon took down the high-definition widescreen copy of the episodes, but replaced it with the standard-def episodes in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The change in listing also meant that viewers in the middle of watching a season still saw it as unavailable, and had to rediscover the same show (while losing their watch history) by searching for it.
Amazon purchased MGM in 2022, and with it the rights to the Stargate franchise. That means that, unless MGM is planning to make more money by licensing Stargate to another provider, this is an unforced error on Amazon’s part. All it takes to renew the license is for one part of Amazon to pay another.
Stargate remains available to watch online in the U.S. (for now) via the free, ad-supported Pluto TV – along with the two SG-1 movies, and the 2018 prequel Stargate Origins. Atlantis is also still available on Hulu.
Amazon could also add Stargate on demand to its Pluto competitor, Freevee, which would keep the episodes integrated with the Prime Video interface but force commercials for all viewers. That service already has a live Stargate channel that runs episodes continuously, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, but without the on-demand service that Pluto also offers for free without a subscription.

Give me a break! Come on Amazon Stargate franchise is huge and millions of us Love Stargate. Don’t drop it, you don’t even have that many good shows to replace Stargate with! Leave our show playing on PLEASE

This is so "corporate silly". Stargate is an Adventure in the truest form of the pioneering and expeditionary spirit of going out clearly applying discovery, curiosity and for the protection of the planet and other people on other planets, solar systems and even other galaxies. Corporations seem to have no balance or time for amusement for this wonderful play of intrigue, understanding and the science of exploration. The reference of taking Stargate off again is exercising folly for it would be simple for the continued employment of maintaining a good television production series that makes a profit. Keep the Stargate open and available to all. It's historical in Science Fiction lore.

I pay for Amazon Prime in the UK and we can't even watch it without paying for an additional MGM monthly subscription or buying each season or episode.
Currently watching SG1 for the 10th time in Australia MGM charge $5 extra a month via Amazon. There's definitely a vindictive bunch of suit's that seem to target Science fiction for cancellation on nearly all streaming. So many great show's axed and so many dog @#&$ Reality shows that run for 20 seasons that are utter crap.
What are you thinking? I watch a Stargate episode almost every night. I love those reruns. Do not delete those series from prime

I own not only the each individual season of SG-1 on DVD but the complete series on Blu-ray, along with Atlantis and Universe and even Infinity. I don't need to worry about streaming rights.
