Ben Browder Goes to Hell

Ben Browder has just landed the role of Max Rainwater in Bad Kids Go to Hell.

Currently shooting in Austin and Dallas, the film adaptation of the comic book turned graphic novel by Matthew Spradlin and Barry Wernick also stars Judd Nelson. Slated for release in 2012, the film focuses on the day all hell breaks loose at Crestview Academy when six of the richest, most spoiled kids conduct a séance while serving a Saturday detention. Max Rainwater, the janitor at Crestview, has an important role in the darkness unleashed that day.

No stranger to science fiction with his roles as Col. Cameron Mitchell on Stargate SG-1 and John Crichton on Farscape, it’s no surprise that Browder is also involved in another genre production.

Meanwhile, Browder’s Naught for Hire is now in development with Paramount as an Internet-TV series and scheduled for release in the summer of 2012. Based on the sci-fi/noir novella by John Stith, Ben is executive producing and playing the title character, Nick Naught. He’s a private detective in a world where even the simplest machines have opinions — and act on them.

In addition, Ben has a number of convention appearances scheduled for the rest of 2011. First up is Polaris 25 in Toronto July 15 and 16. He will appear at Creation Entertainment’s August Stargate convention (Chicago, August 19-21) and November’s Farscape/Stargate/Firefly/Buffy/Angel/Dollhouse convention in Los Angles (November 18-20). Plus, Ben will attend Chevron 7.7 in Northampton, England Nov. 4-6.

With such genre-based projects, it’s likely he will also put in an appearance at San Diego’s Comic Con (July 20-24), although he is not officially scheduled to appear yet.

  • i always liked mitchell, i mean hes no oneil but he kept the team together and besides for switching out one of the main charchters on a scifi show it was done well i mean look at sliders season 5 i love rembrandt and all but that is a good example of how not to switch the main charachter in a show i mean quinn 2? lol anyway good for Ben

  • This si good news! Looking forward to Naught For Hire - I hope someone in the UK will pick it up once its up and running.
