Stargate Universe actor Mike Dopud is headed to network television with guest appearances on both NBC and ABC series. Dopud played the Lucian Alliance soldier Varro on the series.
He’ll appear in Monday’s season premiere of Grimm, NBC’s new fairy tale horror series. Grimm will preview its second season early, airing August 13 at 10/9c, before settling into its Friday time slot next month.
Dopud will then have a recurring role in ABC’s new series Mistresses, premiering at mid-season (early 2013). The soap will star Alyssa Milano, Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes, and Jes Macallan. Dopud will play Olivier, a European business mogul, according to EW.com.
Before Varro, his previous Stargate credits include bounty hunter Odai Ventrell on Stargate SG-1‘s “Bounty,” and Russian Colonel Chernovshev in Season Eight’s “Full Alert.” On Stargate Atlantis, he played the Runner Kiryk in the fifth season episode “Tracker.”

Glad to hear that Mr. Dopud is doing well. He has a commanding presence and was a good contribution to the StarGate series. He certainly helped to make the last half season or so of SGU more energetic and interesting. SGU would have been well-served to have had Dopud somewhere as a leading character from the beginning.
He also appeared in the most recent “Warehouse 13” episode (“No Pain, No Gain”), playing a hockey player.
Yes double the pleasure last night!~ Watched him in both WH13 and Grimm – he was intro-ed on Grimm last week and continued in this weeks epi- he played a really nasty wesen called a Mauvais Dentes (a viscious saber-toothed tiger-like creature)
