The Asgard aid Earth in negotiating a non-aggression treaty with the Goa’uld System Lords, but things go horribly wrong when Cronus, Yu, and Nirrti visit Stargate Command in person.

Nirrti Is Bad News …

Nirrti was once a System Lord, until her fellow Goa’uld stripped her of that rank and her territories for conspiring against them.
She wiped out the population of Hanka (and that probably wasn’t the only planet).
She has a cool personal cloaking device.
She loves experimenting on the innocent, regardless of the consequences.
What she wants most is a hok’taur to be her super-powered host!

“Fair Game” Facts:

Although this is the debut performance for actress Jacqueline Samuda as Nirrti, the team already knew of her and regarded her as a very personal enemy. It was Nirrti who had wiped out Cassandra’s home planet of Hanka and used the young girl to try and destroy Earth’s Stargate (“Singularity”).
Though we’d seen the Asgard by way of holographic projection before, and we’d seen Thor’s mothership obscured by clouds (“Thor’s Chariot”), “Fair Game” is the very first time we saw an Asgard and his ship face-to-face.
“Fair Game” set up a lot of key pieces for the show’s mythology moving forward, including the Protected Planets Treaty, Teal’c’s personal hatred for Cronus, Yu’s relative friendliness toward Earth, and the very first hint at the existence of the Replicators — an enemy of the Asgard who they regarded as “worse than the Goa’uld.”
