Peacemaker TV Series Casts Two Stargate Atlantis Actors

Christopher Heyerdahl and Robert Patrick will appear in the new HBO Max series, based on characters from DC Comics.

Peacemaker (John Cena)

Two Stargate Atlantis actors are set to join Peacemaker, the upcoming comic book series on HBO Max. Variety reports that Robert Patrick and Christopher Heyerdahl have both been cast in the DC Comics series.

Peacemaker is a spin-off from Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn’s upcoming The Suicide Squad movie. The character of Peacemaker is played by John Cena, and is described as “a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.” Gunn has described the character as “superhero, supervillain, and world’s biggest douchebag.” Cena calls him a “douchey Captain America.”

Patrick will play “Auggie Smith,” Peacemaker’s racist father, who is a powerful figure from a small town. Patrick guest starred in the Stargate Atlantis pilot “Rising” in the key role of Colonel Marshall Sumner — the Wraith’s first victim from Earth.

Heyerdahl has been cast as a character named “Captain Locke.” His roles on Stargate are numerous, including the Athosian Halling and the Wraith Todd on Atlantis. Before that, he played Pallan in the Stargate SG-1 episode “Revisions.”

Peacemaker also stars Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, and Chris Conrad. Also recently added the show’s cast are Chukwudi Iwuji (When They See Us) as a series regular, and Lochlyn Munro (Riverdale), and Annie Chang (Shades of Blue). Gunn is also writing for the 8-episode series and will direct multiple episodes, including the pilot, according to Variety.

Patrick is reported to be a main cast member, and Heyerdahl a recurring guest star. Production begins early next year.

The Suicide Squad is slated to be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6, 2021. Expect Peacemaker to arrive late next year at the earliest.

“Edit: forgive me, I probably should have also done my research some of what you said is actually correct, however I’m not a journalist.”

So not being a journalist allows you to be a dick? Got it.
