A brand new line of Stargate construction toys are coming from BlueBrixx.
The Stargate models will be compatible with LEGO bricks and are currently being designed. Pending approvals from licensor MGM, the first releases could arrive early next year.
The Germany-based company made the announcement in a YouTube video earlier this week. BlueBrixx has stores all over Germany, and delivers globally from their online store.
The new license follows on the heels of BlueBrixx’s line of officially licensed Star Trek models. There are more than 50 entries in the Trek series so far, both large and small scale — everything from 500-piece ships like the various Enterprises, Voyager, and the Defiant plus Klingon and Romulan vessels, Borg cubes and more, but also a phaser and communicator, Klingon disruptor, and more.
The grandest is the large-scale Deep Space Nine station, clocking in at 2,889 pieces and measuring over 25 inches (65 cm) in diameter.
BlueBrixx has also produced sets for Battlestar Galactica, Alien, Blade Runner, and other science fiction classics. Their “Space freighter E.S.S. Levitarus” model (pictured above) is clearly – ahem) – inspired by the Daedalus-class carriers from Stargate. With more than 3,700 pieces, it currently sells for around $160 U.S. dollars (plus shipping).
Stargate previously dipped its toe into the world of LEGO-compatible toys with a series of playsets from Best-Lock, released from 2012 to 2013. These were mostly small models and playsets without many pieces to them … though they did include some (rather ugly) mini-figures. (You can check out the entire collection in GateWorld’s Toys and Games section.)
Best-Lock sets were not widely available at the time, eventually turning up at retail at dollar store chains in the U.S. They were also criticized by fans and collectors for their quality.
Meanwhile fans have been clamoring for a LEGO Stargate set for years, with several fan-created designs submitted to the LEGO Ideas proposal program. We recently featured one of these, which showcases just how amazing a Stargate Command playset could be — not to mention ships like the Daedalus, Odyssey, Goa’uld Ha’tak, Asgard mothership, Wraith Darts, Destiny, and more.
By policy LEGO itself does not produce sets with realistic weapons or overt military elements, making a complete and authentic Stargate SG-1 set a bit iffy.
Check out the (German language) announcement from BlueBrixx below, and keep it locked on GateWorld for the latest.

Are they going to remove the Levitarius since they will have an official license now? I'm pretty sure their big mothership isn't exactly a licensed Battlestar Galactica ship either. But I bought and love both.
Why do all these companies hate LEGO? If Star Wars is any indication, they should love them and want their business
