SCI FI aired Stargate SG-1 for five seasons, from 2002 to 2006. The news means that viewers who watched the show on cable, but haven’t seen the movies in their DVD release, will finally see the resolution to the two-year Ori story arc.
In Stargate: The Ark of Truth, SG-1 takes the Earth vessel Odyssey through the Supergate to the Ori home galaxy in the hopes of locating the Ark of Truth, a legendary artifact created millions of years ago by an Alteran scientist — rumored to be capable of stopping the intergalactic war once and for all.
Stargate: The Ark of Truth premiered first on DVD, hitting the shelves in the United States last March. Stargate: Continuum followed on DVD and Blu-ray in July.
Continuum is more of a stand-alone adventure, which sees Sam Carter, Daniel Jackson, and Cameron Mitchell thrust into an altered Earth after the last Goa’uld System Lord, Baal (Cliff Simon), changes the timeline. Richard Dean Anderson puts in a special guest appearance as Jack O’Neill.
