One of Ben Browder‘s 2009 portrayals will be hitting a little closer to home.
GateWorld has learned that the actor behind SG-1‘s Colonel Cameron Mitchell is set to play “an Iraqi war vet who achieves fame when another veteran, this time from Vietnam, features him in a documentary for ABC,” according to the press release.
Freeze Frame the working title based on a true story, “tells how Ben’s character went into a bar and held it up with an unloaded gun. His objective was not to get money, but to get killed.
“After Ben’s character is released from prison, he finds there’s nowhere he can go where people don’t know him, and know what he did … including his son from a broken marriage, who won’t speak to him.”
Directed by Galit McCord, Freeze Frame will go to film in 2009.
A preview of the movie featuring Browder is currently available on YouTube. GateWorld has learned exclusively that Browder is currently the only actor cast. The producers are aiming for a theatrical release, but the number of hits to the YouTube video will play a big part in deciding the film’s fate.
(Thanks to Shards for the tip!)
woot, good luck ben!
Is there anything else on this movie? Who is the production company? Any other cast? Is this a tv movie? Direct to DVD? Can we get a link to the press release? Who is the lead in the film?
Steve, I contacted the proper folks and got more answers for you. See the last paragraph. That’s all that’s available currently :)
hmmm i can see people writing programs to constantly refresh the page to get the views up. happened to a friend of mine and he got quite excited when he saw his vid was on the most viewed for music that day and then someone sent him a message saying that they had written the program
You know, when people say “vet” I think “veterinarian” (and I’m sure a lot of other people do too).
Pling, same here, I always think that when I first see the word vet.
Based on the number of YouTube hits?? Really? Doesn’t sound too promising. So if it doesn’t get enough hits it won’t be made?
I think the implication was that it would get a television release rather than theatrical, not that it wouldn’t be made.
Goodluck Ben.
hmmm only 2700 views in a week… i don’t see this going far tbh
