Former Stargate SG-1 and Farscape star Ben Browder is set to make an appearance on one of the hot new shows of the season: The CW’s Arrow.
The actor will play Ted Gaynor, a character from the Green Arrow comics, in the show’s eleventh episode, according to IGN. Gaynor was once Diggle’s (Oliver Queen’s confidante) commanding officer on a tour in Afghanistan. Now he’s a bodyguard for Blackhawk Squad Protection Group in Starling City.
Titled “Trust But Verify,” the episode will air on The CW in early 2013.
Browder played Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell on SG-1. He recently appeared in an episode of the new season of Doctor Who.
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as comic book hero Oliver Queen, who becomes a hooded vigilante to right the wrongs of his family after being stranded on an island for five years. The series films in Vancouver, B.C. (former home of Stargate), and claims former Stargate stunt coordinator James “BamBam” Bamford as one of its own.
Also joining the series is actress Janina Gavankar (True Blood), who Stargate Atlantis fans will recognize as Sergeant Dusty Mehra in the fifth season episode “Whispers.” (Listen to GateWorld’s 2008 interview with the actress.)
She’ll play McKenna Hall, a formidable vice cop who shows up along with the introduction of the comic book villain Vertigo (Fringe‘s Seth Gabel), as well as a powerful new drug in Starling City.
“She’s a woman from Oliver’s past and every woman who comes into his life is going to cause problems for him and Laurel,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told The Hollywood Reporter. “But as much as she’s causing complications for him and Laurel, she’s really going to complicate things for the Arrow because his new girlfriend is a police officer whose mission is going to be to take down the masked vigilante. That’s going to be both a source of humor but also a lot of dramatic tension.”

I’ve been checking the show out and so far am enjoying it! I recommend it to anybody who is a fan of super hero movies/tv shows!
I don’t watch Arrow, but I might tune in to this episode, just to see Ben. Good news!
